With the boxing world experiencing a virtual shut down due to the coronavirus all we can do now is look ahead to the future and hope that this crisis passes in a timely manner. One future potential fight that has been talked about is a third showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin possibly scheduled for the fall. Due to the concern of the recent spread of the contagious coronavirus many boxing events have been cancelled and or postponed. Boxing has followed suit with the rest of the country that has cancelled sporting and entertainment events due to the virus. Robert Helenius scored a huge upset knockout victory over the heavily favored Adam Kownacki last night. It was a spirited battle between the two men for three rounds in which Kownacki appeared to be getting the better of Helenius in the back and forth exchanges. But, out of nowhere, in the fourth round Helenius landed a huge right hand on Kownacki that knocked him down and he wasn’t fully able to recover from the crushing blow. Although Kownacki was able to rise to his feet, he wasn’t able to defend himself from the onslaught that came shortly after from Helenius and the referee was forced to step in and stop the fight. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Mikey Garcia returned to the ring last night for the first time since his onesided loss to welterweight champion Errol Spence against the tough and rugged Jesse Vargas. Vargas got off to a fast start but Garcia picked it up in the middle rounds and started to wear down Vargas with hard right hands and body shots.  Vargas suffered a knockdown in the fifth round from one of those hard right hands but was able to stage a mini comeback in the championship rounds to lose a highly competitive decision.
