Jermell Charlo headlined a stacked card last night as he unified three junior middleweight titles by scoring an eight round knockout over the tough Jeison Rosario. The fight appeared to be even in rounds up until the point of the stoppage but a first and sixth round knockdown gave Charlo the lead going in to the eighth round. The fight ended after Charlo landed a jab to the midsection that seemed to suck all  the air out of Rosario and he was not able to get up off the canvas. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Erickson Lubin won a wide decision over Terell Gausha last night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The fight started off slow with both men not throwing a lot of punches but Lubin appeared to be doing just a bit more to nick the early and mid rounds. Outside of landing a big right hand in the tenth round that had Lubin on shaky legs and another pretty decent round in the eleventh, Gausha didn’t offer up much offense. Lubin appeared to carry the fight and proceeded to win a unanimous decision victory.   Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

We had a very slow week of boxing with no big fights scheduled but there is plenty of boxing news to talk about. The big story this week is Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and his ongoing issues with his promoter Golden Boy Promotions and his broadcaster DAZN. Apparently, Alvarez has filed a lawsuit against both parties that was dismissed by the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California this past Friday. It seems as though this won’t be the end of this dispute between the parties and more than likely there will be more legal action to come. Only time will tell how plays out. In the meantime, this leaves Canelo, DAZN, and Golden Boy Promotions without a big fight to close out the year. This doesn’t look good for all parties involved and is bad news for boxing fans.  Eric and Beeb will weigh in and give their thoughts on the situation.

Jamel Herring retained his WBO title last night by disqualification over Jonathan Oquendo as a result of a fifth round headbutt that was deemed intentional by referee Tony Weeks. The fight started out well for Herring and was highlighted by a third round knockdown of Oquendo from a left uppercut. As the fight wore on the fight got ugly with Oquendo often leaning in with his head as he recklessly came forward. Oquendo’s uncontrolled aggression cost him a point in the fifth round after a clash of heads was deemed intentional with the referee finding him at fault. Herring suffered a cut over his right eye from the head clash. The cut continued to get worse later in to the fight and he was no longer able to see because of the heavy flow of blood that was going in to his eye. The fight was stopped in the eighth round because Herring claimed that he could no longer see out of the injured eye and he was awarded the victory via disqualification. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.
