Davis pretty much had has way with Gamboa from start to finish knocking him down in rounds two, eight, and twelve. After the final knock down referee Jack Reiss waved off the highly one sided fight. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Dec 23, 2019

Jermell Charlo regained his WBC super welterweight title last night in California in a fight that he appeared to be losing before lowering the boom in round eleven. After seemingly being outworked on the inside, Charlo found lightning in a bottle with two huge left hooks that put down Harrison twice. Harrison rose on shaky legs and was backed into a corner where Charlo unloaded on his defenseless prey forcing the referee to wave off the bout. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

WBO Champion Terence Crawford took care of business last night against mandatory challenger Egidijus Kavaliauskas. After fighting through some tough spots in rounds two and three Crawford took over and imposed his will on the rugged Kavaliauskas. Crawford finished the job in the ninth round where he scored a pair of knockdowns and forced the referee to wave off the bout. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Anthony Joshua exacted his revenge this past Saturday night in Saudi Arabia and regained his heavyweight title belts. Joshua fought a more poised technical fight this time around and put forth a virtuoso performance as he dominated Ruiz by keeping him at the end of his jab for most of the fight. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Dec 2, 2019

Eric and Beeb preview the huge heavyweight championship showdown rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz. The champion Ruiz is looking to prove that his huge monumental upset last June was no fluke and he will be looking to repeat his outstanding performance. Joshua on the other hand will be looking to right the wrongs of the first fight and dig down deep into his bag of tricks to come up with the right game plan to regain his titles.

Nov 25, 2019

WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder got off to a slow start in his rematch against Luis Ortiz in Las Vegas last night. Ortiz seemingly was out boxing Wilder and was landing sharp left hand counters regularly throughout the first six rounds of the fight. All that seemed to change in round seven when Wilder landed the perfect one two combination that dropped Ortiz hard and he was unable to beat the count. Wilder who was behind at the time of the stoppage on all three judge’s scorecards tied the great Muhammad Ali by successfully defending his title for the tenth consecutive time. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

After a slow uneventful week of boxing we look ahead to next week’s big heavyweight rematch between WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz. Ortiz gets another shot at the prize after coming so close in the seventh round last year where he hurt Wilder badly with a devastating right hook that had the champ on wobbly legs. Nevertheless Wilder was able to recover and rally back and ended up stopping Ortiz in the tenth round. Eric and Beeb will preview this fight and recap the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Who would have ever thought that a pro debut of two YouTube stars would end up being the biggest fight of the weekend but the mainstream attention that this event garnered could not be denied? Logan Paul and KSI both fought a spirited fight at the Staples center last night that ended in a bit of controversy. Paul, who in the first fight got off to a fast start in their bout last year, fought a bit more conservative this time choosing to lay back and use his jab and stay at a distance. KSI was the aggressor but was swinging wildly and came up short on many occasions. KSI landed a wide looping right hand behind Paul’s ear in the fourth round that sent him to the canvass but it was ruled a slip by referee Jack Reiss. On the replay and even in real time it looked to be a clear knockdown. Then in the fourth round Paul returned the favor as he landed a series of right uppercuts to KSI’s chin but during the second punch he wrapped his glove behind his opponent’s head and pulled it down as he hit him with the second punch. After KSI fell to the canvass Paul hit him behind the head while he was down. Referee Jack Reiss scored the knockdown for Paul but then deducted him two points for what was ruled an intentional foul. Had it not been for the two point deduction Paul would have won the contest. One could argue that it was a make up call made by Reiss because of the clear knockdown of Paul that he missed in the third round. Nevertheless KSI won by split decision with the scores of 57-54, 56-55 and one judge scoring it for Paul 56-55. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez made history last night in Las Vegas as he claimed a world title in his fourth weight class by stopping WBO Light Heavyweight Champion Sergey Kovalev in the eleventh round. Alvarez now becomes only the fourth Mexican to win world titles in four weight classes and only the second Mexican to claim the light heavyweight title. From the outset Kovalev seemed very cautious. He appeared to be overly concerned about getting hit by sharp counters from Canelo and admittedly didn’t throw the right hand as much as he normally does because he was concerned about getting hit to the body in return. Alvarez took full advantage of the overly cautious Kovalev and pushed him back for most of the fight until catching up with him in the eleventh round landing a right hand to the head followed by a left hook and another right hand that sealed the deal. Kovalev fell to the canvass and the fight was immediately waved off by the referee. At the time of the stoppage the judges had 96-94 twice while the third judge had it even and 95-95. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

WBA World Boxing Super Lightweight Champion Regis Prograis squared off last night against IBF World Super Lightweight Champion Josh Taylor in the finals of the World Boxing Super Series Super Lightweight Tournament. It was hotly contested matchup with both men having their moments but Taylor went on a run in the second half of the fight and seemed to pull away late. Prograis finished with a strong twelfth round but it wasn’t enough to get him the victory on the three judge’s scorecards who scored the bout 114-114, 115-113 and 117-112 giving Taylor the victory by majority decision. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk squared off against IBF Light Heavyweight Champion Artur Beterbiev last Friday night in a very rare unification fight between two undefeated champions. The fight was very competitive with Gvozdyk seemingly getting off to a good start and out boxing Beterbiev from the outside by sticking and moving early on. But, as the fight wore on Beterbiev started to take control in the middle rounds by imposing his will and constant pressure on Gvozdyk. Eventually Gvozdyk wore down and after suffering three knockdowns in the tenth round the referee waved off the fight declaring Beterbiev the winner by TKO. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk issued a one side beating to Chazz Witherspoon last night in Chicago. Usyk who was fighting at heavyweight for the first time seemed content to systematically and methodically take Witherspoon apart with well placed shots all night seemingly never really looking for the stoppage. As a result of fatigue and an accumulation constant punishment from Usyk, who was able to out land him by a considerable margin, Witherspoon retired on his stool after the seventh round ended and was no longer able to continue. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Gennady Golovkin edged out Sergiy Derevyanchenko last night at the Madison Square Garden in a tough war that saw both men go toe to toe on several occasions in the fight. It appeared that Derevyanchenko outworked Golovkin at close quarters for a great portion of the fight but Golovkin did have some success of his own from the outside in certain spots of the fight. Most felt Derevyanchenko did enough to pull off the victory but the three judges saw otherwise scoring the fight for Golovkin by the scores of 115-112 twice and 114-113. Golovkin picked up the vacant IBF middleweight title. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

In a highly entertaining bout IBF Welterweight Champion Errol Spence squared off against WBC Welterweight Champion Shawn Porter. Spence went in to to the fight as the huge favorite but Porter did not fight anything like the eight to one underdog the odds makers had it. Porter gave Spence more trouble than most expected with his movement and he was able to land punches from awkward angles but Spence closed the show strong and scored a knockdown in the eleventh round that seemingly sealed the deal for him. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Sep 23, 2019

In what appeared to be a super middleweight crossroads fight Alfredo Angulo surprised Peter Quillin last night by outworking him and landing the much cleaner blows of the two men. Angulo scored the upset split decision victory with two judges scoring it 97-93 and 96-94 for him while the other judge had it 96-94 for Quillin. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as preview the big welterweight unification showdown between Errol Spence and Shawn Porter coming up this Saturday

Tyson Fury did what most people expected he would do against his overmatched opponent Otto Walin but maybe not how most expected he would do it. Walin showed a bit more grit and wherewithal than was anticipated. Although Walin had a few moments they seemed to be too far and few between and Fury was able to out work and out box his game opponent. But, Fury did not go unscathed in this matchup as he suffered two big gashes over his right eye that were caused by the laces of Walin’s left glove scraping up against his eyelid and an accidental head butt causing the second cut. Although Fury admitted after the fight that the cuts affected his vision they were still not enough to stop him from doing what he came to do and was expected to do and that was dominate the huge underdog Walin. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

After a very slow weekend of fights we look ahead to the many great matchups they lay ahead coming up later this month and the rest of the year. One of those matchups is the Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz rematch that is scheduled for Dec.7 in Saudi Arabia. Joshua is looking for redemption after losing his heavyweight titles to the huge underdog Ruiz. The newly crowned heavyweight champion Ruiz is looking to prove that his historical, monumental victory was no fluke. The two men kicked off the press tour for this mega event this past week and Eric and Beeb will chime in with their thoughts and recap the three press conferences that took place and analyze both fighters’ mindset going into the rematch.

WBO and WBA Lightweight Champion Vasyl Lomachenko added the WBC lightweight title to his collection last night as he systematically outpointed the very game contender Luke Campbell. Campbell didn't make thing easy for Lomanchenko early on but the Ukrainian showed why is arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the sport by making the necessary adjustments and pulling away in the second half of the fight. Campbell put up a valiant effort and survived an eleventh round knockdown but just didn't have enough to stop the highly skilled Lomanchenko from doing what he wanted.

WBO mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde took a major step up in class as he challenged WBO Light Heavyweight Champion Sergey Kovalev in Russia yesterday. There were a lot of questions being asked of both men in the lead up to this matchup and they were answered quite clearly yesterday. For Yarde the question was raised: is this too much too soon? And for Kovalev the question was: did he have enough left to compete at the top level and still hang with the young guns or at least enough to deal with the athletically gifted Yarde? Well it was clear that the latter proved to be true. Kovalev appeared to be controlling the first half of the fight with his powerful stiff jab but Yarde started to change things up a bit in the seventh round as he became more aggressive and started to get inside and work Kovalev’s body. Then in the eighth Yarde looked like he was one or two punches away from stopping Kovalev and it all started with a huge left hook to the body followed up with a big right hand to the head. Kovalev was able to hold on and Yarde seemed to have punched himself out in the eighth and could not reproduce the same fireworks from there on out. Then in the eleventh Kovalev landed a short power jab that put Yarde down for good and he was not able to continue. Credit to Yarde for his valiant effort but one has to ask: was he prepared for this huge task with only eighteen fights under his belt against nondescript competition?Eric and Beeb will answer that question and recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Aug 19, 2019

Promoter Eddie Hearn announced last week that the Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz rematch is a done deal scheduled for December 7 in Saudi Arabia. Ruiz and his team state the total opposite and claim they haven’t formally agreed to anything yet and Ruiz has even gone as far as saying that he will not go to Saudi Arabia to fight Joshua. This whole thing looks to be a hot mess with both sides seeming to not be on the same page. Eric, Beeb, and special guest Michael Montero from Boxing Monthly and RingTv.com will weigh in on this topic as well as recap WBO World Super Bantamweight Champion Emanuel Navarrete’s one-sided three round destruction of Francisco De Vaca.

Aug 12, 2019

Vergil Ortiz Jr. passed his biggest test to date by stopping the tough and highly experienced Antonio Orozco in the sixth round. Orozco made Ortiz Jr. work hard for the victory by applying constant pressure in all of the six rounds before being stopped for the first time in his career. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Aug 5, 2019

Heavyweight veteran and three time title challenger Chris Arreola took on the up and coming power punching Adam Kownacki in what was looked at as crossroads fight for both men. The 38 year old Arreola was trying to prove that he still had what it takes to compete at a high level against the top fighters in the division while Kownacki was looking to prove that he was a threat to the big names in the division and worthy of a title shot. The fight was competitive in spots and was fought in a phone booth at close range with both men setting a record for the most combined punches thrown and landed in a heavyweight fight with a total of 667 punches landed and 2172 thrown. Although Arreola had his moments, Kownacki appeared to land the cleaner shots and at a higher rate over twelve hard fought rounds which was enough to secure him a unanimous decision victory. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Jul 29, 2019

WBC Junior Welterweight Champion Jose Ramirez squared off in a unification match last night against WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Maurice Hooker in what looked to be a 50/50 matchup. Both men engaged in a competitive pretty even matchup until the sixth round came around and Ramirez landed a monstrous left hook that drove a defenseless Hooker back to the ropes where he was being bombarded with multiple unanswered shots. The referee had no choice but to halt the bout as Ramirez went on to win by a sixth round technical knockout. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Jul 22, 2019

Forty year old boxing icon Manny Pacquiao turned back the clock once again and beat WBA Super World Welterweight Champion Keith Thurman last night in Las Vegas. Pacquiao got off to a fast start and scored a knockdown in the first round but the game Thurman came back a bit in middle rounds and made the fight close. Showing his championship heart and true grit, Pacquiao was able to close the show strong in the championship rounds to secure a close split decision victory by the scores of 115-112 twice and losing on one card 114-113. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

Jul 15, 2019

Right from the opening bell Daniel Dubios seemed to be in control of his fight with fellow British heavyweight prospect Nathan Gorman. Gorman seemed to be held at bay by the long stiff jab of Dubios that was followed up with some massive right hands. Dubios knocked Gorman down in the third round with one of those right hand bombs and finished him in the fifth round with the same punch. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.

We will also bring to you the latest boxing news, rumors, and upcoming fight schedule.
